Dr. Christine McDonald completed her specialty training in Adult Respirology at the University of Toronto, and further fellowship training in Interventional Pulmonology at the Toronto General Hospital. She completed her MSc through the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, with a concentration in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety.
Dr. McDonald is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, and works as an Interventional Pulmonologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Her areas of academic interest include improving patient access to minimally invasive pulmonary procedures, lung cancer diagnostic pathways, and healthcare sustainability.
Dr. McDonald is involved in local initiatives aimed at reducing unnecessary care, reducing waste in chest procedures, and improving waste sorting. She has supervised respirology resident projects with a focus on sustainability. She has also contributed to sustainability work on a national level through the Canadian Thoracic Society.
