Planetary Health Educator Support Hub

Supporting educators is essential to our work as an academic hub in the emerging field of sustainability in health.

About

Our evolving Planetary Health Educator Support Hub supports educators in exploring pathways to integrate planetary health concepts and competencies into their teaching. Faculty can learn about upcoming training opportunities, explore practical tools, access adaptable teaching materials, and book consultations to discuss strategies tailored to their courses and programs. By building faculty capacity to teach planetary health, we cultivate an academic community equipped to advance sustainable, equitable health systems through education, practice, and research.

Interested in getting involved? We welcome collaboration.

Introduction to Sustainable Health Systems is a 90-minute online course that will introduce you to the relationship between climate change, health, and health systems; the concept of sustainable health systems; and climate action and sustainability work across Canadian healthcare systems. Available in both English and French.

The Planetary Health Report Card (PHRC) is a metric-based tool for evaluating and improving planetary health content in health professional schools. It is completed by student-led, faculty-mentored teams, with results published in an annual Earth Day report. Participating in the development of and reviewing these reports can help faculty and students identify gaps and opportunities.
