Kyobin Hwang is a second-year medical student at the University of Toronto with a strong interest in planetary health, sustainable healthcare, and medical education. She holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) from McMaster University, where she specialized in Child Health and Development.
Kyobin’s work is centered on advancing sustainability within clinical practice. She has collaborated with Choosing Wisely Canada to spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing low-value care while promoting environmentally responsible practice. Her work has been presented at national and international forums, including the International Congress on Academic Medicine and the Collaborative Centre for Climate, Health & Sustainable Care Symposium. In parallel, Kyobin is actively engaged in research and advocacy to integrate planetary health into medical education.
