About
This initiative is funded by a SSHRC Partnership Development Grant to identify and explore specific opportunities for healthcare to support city-led climate action through physical infrastructure, care delivery and place-based climate governance.
As one component of this, the team has worked to explore the role of Ontario Health Teams (OHTs) in supporting community-led climate resilience, leading to a recent partnership with the West Toronto OHT in an application for a CIHR Community Based Climate Priorities Grant, Mobilizing Peer Support Structures for Community Climate Resilience.
Key activities:
- This partnership grant is also supporting work with the Community Development Unit, Social Development, Finance & Administration at the City of Toronto to host a Community Climate Resilience Roundtable: Health, Wellbeing & Health Equity in December 2024. This roundtable will convene and connect key actors working on community climate resilience from an equity, health, and wellbeing perspective in the Greater Toronto area.
