Until May 24, 2025, this course will earn you 8 hours of accredited training (HFA), which can be used with the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec as continuing education. It also enables you to obtain a generic certificate when you have completed the training. This training is available in both English and French.
Climate change and environmental degradation are one of the major challenges of our time. They represent one of the greatest threats to the health of populations and are the cause of migratory movements/forced displacements that are set to increase, whether at international or local level. Understanding these phenomena requires a global vision, and in particular an interdisciplinary one.
This training not only covers the basic concepts, but also the major issues raised by climate migration and the status of climate migrants, with a particular focus on health, vulnerability and equity. In particular, the course is designed to raise awareness and educate members of the nursing profession (and other health professions) about climate issues and their impact on their practice.
Development of the training program was financially supported by the Quebec Population Health Research Network and the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé, as well as by the Université de Montréal. It was developed by the Global Health Axis, directed by Lisa Merry (FSI, UdeM) and the Ethics Axis (directed by Matthew Hunt, McGill University) of the QPHRN.
