Geoffrey became interested in health policy and health services research as a medical student. After medical school and an internship, he completed a MSc in Community Medicine at the University of Toronto and a PhD in Public Policy Analysis at the Rand Graduate Institute under the supervision of Dr. Robert Brook. Geoffrey then took a position at UBC before returning to Toronto to work at ICES. He became a tenured Professor in IHPME in 2000. In that role, he has had the pleasure of supervising several postdoctoral fellows and graduate students and developed a MSc Concentration in System Leadership and Innovation. He has been funded by a range of international, national and provincial agencies to lead a range of health services and policy research projects. Geoffrey has published over 200 well-cited articles in peer review journals. As an extension of my interests in health policy and health services research, in recent years he has been working with a team to examine the extent to which the digital transformation of healthcare will lead to low-carbon high-quality care.
