Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Centre for Global Child Health, SickKids

Salima Kerai is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health, advised by Dr. Zulfiqar Bhutta, and an Adjunct Faculty member at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) within the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. As an interdisciplinary researcher with a PhD in Population and Public Health from the University of British Columbia, my work lives at the critical intersection of global health, child development, and climate change.

With over a decade of experience across academic and community settings in Canada and Pakistan, Salima’s research focuses on translating complex epidemiological data into actionable insights for climate-resilient health systems. Her work addresses how environmental shifts impact maternal and child health equity in marginalized populations. She is particularly interested in leveraging technology and data science to bridge health gaps and inform policy in low-resource settings.
