Meet the staff & leadership who oversee the operations of the Collaborative Centre.

Training & Education Lead

As Training & Education Lead for the Collaborative Centre and its flagship project, CASCADES (for which she also serves as an Executive Lead), Nicole guides the design, implementation, and evaluation of student and professional development programs. Via courses, webinars, workshops, coaching sessions, and a variety of educational offerings developed in collaboration with health partners, she seeks to deliver interdisciplinary learning opportunities that build pan-Canadian capacity for sustainable health systems.

Nicole holds a PhD from the Department of Geography, Environment & Society at the University of Minnesota, and an MA in Geography/Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto.

Managing Director

Brittany Maguire holds a Master’s in Environmental Studies from York University, Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and International Development Studies from Dalhousie University, and a Graduate Diploma in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership from Carleton University.

Brittany helped launch the Collaborative Centre and was the Managing Director of the previous Centre for Sustainable Health Systems since 2022. Prior to joining the University of Toronto, Brittany spent over five years in program and project management for non-profits, particularly at the intersections of sustainability, climate change, food systems and food security. She is passionate about community engagement and collaboration on initiatives that address sustainability and climate change.

Administrative Coordinator

Jaclyn MacNeil (she/her) holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Human Nutrition from Mount Saint Vincent University. Throughout her degree she was involved in various research projects, both in Halifax and Toronto, which explored food insecurity, community education, and health policy. In 2023, Jaclyn became Administrative Coordinator, and later, Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator for CASCADES (Creating a Sustainable Canadian Health System in a Climate Crisis) at the University of Toronto, where she helped coordinate continuing professional development offerings and events and resource development projects. Since November 2025, she has been the Administrative Coordinator for the Collaborative Centre for Climate, Health & Sustainable Care supporting a variety of the Centre’s programs, activities, and communications. Jaclyn is currently completing a certificate in Learning Design at the University of Toronto.
