This interactive workshop will draw on the creativity, ideas, and knowledges of participants to visualize entanglements of climate change, health, research, and practice – no artistic talents or skills needed. There will be prompts about planetary health and instructions for contributing using mixed materials and drawing from participants’ own work. The workshop will start with brief more-than-human theory and context for this exercise and prompts to think through how all participant research areas, projects, questions, practice, and preoccupations fit together.
Guided by facilitators, attendees will co-create the mural during the workshop using mixed materials as they think differently together about climate, health, and community. The completed collaborative mural will act as a visual archive of some of the learning, sharing, and relating that happened at the 2026 Climate & Health Conference.
Facilitators
Kristian Brevik, PhD
Kristian Brevik is a professor at the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Vermont. He is an artist, scientist, and educator who works to build relationships between humans and other species through science, teaching, zine publishing, and large-scale installation and performance art.
Antonia Di Castri, MSc, RN
Antonia Di Castri is a registered nurse, epidemiologist, and PhD candidate in the Social and Behavioural Health Sciences division of the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Her research interests are at the confluence of infectious disease, climate change, and more-than-human health.
