Dr. Emma Gregory (MD, FRCPC) is a Geriatric Psychiatrist, Lecturer, and Clinician Teacher in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. She completed medical school and psychiatry residency at McMaster University, and her subspecialty residency in geriatric psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
She has strong interests in areas related to health equity, health professionals’ education, older adults’ mental and cognitive health, as well as climate change and health. With co-authors at McMaster University, she developed the e-learning course, “Hot and bothered: A primer on climate change for psychiatry residents” (available on the MacHealth website for any interested trainees/clinicians). She is a co-author of the chapter, “Climate change and the health of older adults” in Hategan et al.’s Geriatric Psychiatry: A Case-Based Textbook (available on the University of Toronto’s library website). She is the primary author of an upcoming chapter, “Health impacts of climate change on older adults” for a medical text focused on sustainable healthcare (in editing; not yet available). She has presented locally, and nationally on the topic of climate change and older adults’ health. She hopes to continue to contribute to health education and clinical training on this topic for trainees, faculty, and other clinicians.
